There is exciting news from UNU. After the success of the E-waste Summer Schools in 2009 and 2010, we are pleased to announce that, thanks to the support of Swico Recycling, Philips, Umicore, Nokia, Dell, HP, UNU and Empa, there will be a StEP E-waste Summer School in 2011 again!

This year’s Summer School will take place from 11 – 22 September in Eindhoven/Netherlands, Antwerp/Belgium and include participation of the World Resources Forum in Davos/Switzerland. The theme of the Summer School is “Closing resource loops – Complexities and solutions in managing e-waste”. Again, the programme includes a mix of student presentations, expert lectures, group work and study tours.

The Call for Applications is now open. We are again inviting applications from doctoral students, final year master students and early career post-docs currently researching on e-waste and related areas to come together and share knowledge, interact with experts and gain a holistic view on e-waste.
